New release for Jan 2008
Béal Tuinne (pronounced
'Beel-thinneh) is the name of a group of West Kerry-based
musicians featuring Seamus Begley and Eilis Kennedy, who joined
together with singer Rita Connolly and composer Shaun Davey
in 2006 to perform a collection of new songs based on the
poems of the late Caoimhin O Cinneide. The group also includes,
Lawrence Courtney, Jim Murray, Eoin Begley, and honorary member;
Daithi O'Se.

Bill Whelan releases new
album 'The Connemara Suite'. World renouned Riverdance composer
Bill Whelan has just released his latest The Connemara Suite
on the Tara label. The music is performed by The Irish Chamber
Orchestra, Conducted by David Jones and soloists include:
Zoë Conway, Morgan Crowley, Colin Dunne, Fionnuala Hunt,
Michelle Mulcahy, and Bill Whelan.

New Album from Frankie
Gavin with Hibernian Rhapsody due for release shortly
Frankie Gavin, of De Dannan fame, is back centre stage with
a new group Hibernian Rhapsody, comprising some of Ireland's
finest talents. The Full Score is the title of the group'
debut album and it will be available on the Tara Music label
around mid-September 2007.

The Galway Art Festival
will, this year, present a Celebration concert to honour the
life and work of Donal Lunny featuring Moving Hearts at Galway's
Radisson SAS Hotel on Sunday July 29th.

Shaun Davey Concerts
Details announced for a second evening of the music of Shaun
Davey with a performance of The Brendan Voyage and Granuaile
on Friday 27th of July at Dublin's National Concert
Hall. This performance which will be in addition to the
concert on June 22nd (see below), will feature The
RTE National Symphony Orchestra conducted by Gavin
Maloney with soloists Liam O'Flynn and Rita
Connolly.

The Cork Youth Orchestra
will perform The Brendan Voyage for Italian Festival.
The Cork Youth Orchestra will perform The Brendan
Voyage at the 9th International Festival of European Youth
Orchestras in Tuscany, Italy, this July. The Orchestra
will perform a pre-tour concert at Cork City Hall on
Wed 4th July at 8pm

Moving Hearts have confirmed
appearances at two festivals this summer.
Following on the success of their reunion concerts, in
Dublin's Vicar Street, last February. ground-breaking
instrumental ensemble Moving Hearts will be appearing at Scotland's
Herbridean Festival in July and the ESB BEO festival at Dublin's
NCH in August.

Liam O'Flynn Musician
of the Year receives Award
Top prize in the TG4 Gradam Ceoil Awards, goes to Liam
OFlynn from Kildare who has long been regarded as one
of Irelands most influential uilleann pipers. The awards
considered to be the foremost recognition given to traditional
Irish musicians, will take place on Easter Sunday, April 8,
at the Cork Opera House. Along with Liam special guests for
the night will include Paul Brady, Danu, Sean Keane, Jackie
Daly, West Ocean String Quartet agus go leor eile.

Granuaile and Refief of Derry Symphony
Dublin's NCH Fri June 22nd 2007 - 8pm
Last year's The Music of Shaun Davey with the RTÉ
National Symphony Orchestra was lauded as one of the highlights
of the NCH's musical calendar. For 2007 Shaun returns with
two of his best known works, Granuaile and The Relief
of Derry Symphony.

EMMA KATE TOBIA Launches
her first solo recording, entitled Aisling na nGael (An Irish
Dream). The CD comprises 12 tracks from the Irish traditional
idiom presented in a stunning manner by Soprano Emma Kate
Tobia.

On January 4th 2005 the Orchestra
Sinfonica de Galiçia, one of Spain's leading orchestras,
are set to perform of concert of music by Irish composer,
Bill Whelan, in the Palacio de la Opera of La Coruña.
The main event of the evening will be a full performance
of The Seville Suite (Kinsale to La Coruña).

Following the huge success
of their recent reunion concert, Stockton's Wing have now
confirmed a second concert in Dublin's Vicar Street on May

to reform for a series of Irish concerts in 2004.

McGlynn announce dates for major tour of Holland in Jan/Feb
2004. The Tour will also feature singer Sean Keane and his
band as well as Marian Bradfield and her Band.

Top Irish
group of the 1980's (and much of the 1990's) Stockton's Wing
will be getting together for a one-off concert at The West
County Hotel Ennis Co.Clare, on Nov. 8th. 2003. All the proceeds
from the concert will go to help a young girl through hospital
procedures.

Ireland's
master fiddle player, Frankie Gavin, is set for a comprehensive
tour of Scotland this coming October with Brian McGrath accompanying
him on piano and banjo. Venues include the Queens Hall in
Edinburgh and the Penicuik Folk Festival.

Three performances
of Bill Whelan's The Seville Suite are planned for Ireland
in the coming months. The RTE concert orchestra along with

Proinnsías Ó Duinn.

The Athletes' Song of the 2003 Special Olympics World Summer
Games was Composed by Shaun Davey and performed performed
at the Opening Ceremony in Dublin's Croke Park by Ronan Tynan,
Rita Connolly, The Voice Squad, the National Symphony Orchestra,
many of Ireland's finest traditional musicians, a 50 strong
pipe band and a choir of 500.

Galway Arts
Festival honour the contribution of Arty McGlynn to Irish
Music over the last twenty years, with a celebrattery concert
at this year's festival on Sunday June 20th. The concert will
feature many of theartists Arty has performed with during
his career.
