Since 2009 Frankie Gavin has been back on the road and
with the new De Dannan. members. The current line-up being
Frankie, Damien Mullane, Eric Cunningham, Mike Galvin and Michelle
Lally. Such has been the reaction to the band, they have now released
a new CD ‘Jigs, Reels & Rock n’ Roll’

Squad to Reform
Ireland's leading traditional acapella
group The Voice Squad are set for a reunion concert in Dublin's
National Concert Hall on St. Patrick's Day (Mar 17th) in the
Ceili House Live concert as part of the St. Patrick's Festival.
This long awaited reunion will be the group's first appearance together
since they performed on stage for the opening ceremony of the Special
Olympic World Games 2003. The Voice Squad's (Phil Callery, Fran
McPhail and Gerry Cullen) style is the union of the distinct tenor
voices of Fran and Phil plus the bass of Gerry, along with their
own particular arrangements of good songs, that has made them one
of the most distinctive unaccompanied singing groups of recent times.
Choral Society celebrates its 30th anniversary on Mar 3rd 2012 at
Dublin's NCH with the première of a new work 'Songs
of the Sea' by Shaun Davey. Guests will include Shaun,
Rita Connolly, Liam O'Flynn and the evening will be presented
and conducted by David Brophy.

Béal Tuinne (pronounced 'Beel-thinneh)
is the name of a group of West Kerry-based musicians featuring Seamus
Begley and Eilis Kennedy, who joined together with singer Rita Connolly
and composer Shaun Davey in 2006 to perform a collection of new
songs based on the poems of the late Caoimhin O Cinneide. The group
also includes, Lawrence Courtney, Jim Murray, Eoin Begley, and honorary
member; Daithi O'Se.

album 'The Connemara Suite'. World renouned Riverdance composer
Bill Whelan has just released his latest The Connemara Suite on

the Year receives Award
Top prize in the TG4 Gradam Ceoil Awards, goes to Liam OFlynn
from Kildare who has long been regarded as one of Irelands
most influential uilleann pipers. The awards considered to be the
foremost recognition given to traditional Irish musicians, will
take place on Easter Sunday, April 8, at the Cork Opera House. Along

finest traditional musicians, a 50 strong pipe band and a choir
