Michelle Lally is a powerful new singer who has just emerged from Galway. Her renditions of contemporary easy listing Irish music are impossible to resist with the gentle charm of her immediately identifiable pure tone. Like many of Ireland's great female vocalists of recent times including, Mary Black, Dolores Keane, Maura O'Connell, etc. Michelle's undoubted talent has been brought to the fore by the legendary Frankie Gavin of De Dannan. Michelle is currently the lead vocalist with Frankie's new group 'Hibernian Rhapsody' who recently performed with The Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra in Liverpool.
"A voice that lingers in the mind's ear,
when the enchanted listening is done."
'If This Be Love' (TARACD4019) is Michelle's debut album and features a beautiful selection of songs by some of Ireland's leading songwriters including, Jimmy McCarthy, Mick Hanly, John Spillane as well as some original music by co-producer and mentor Frankie Gavin. Included in the album's thirteen tracks, some selected by the composers especially for Michelle, are such classics as 'Wonder Child', 'Ride On', 'Black is The Colour' and the 'Ave Maria'. 'If This Be Love' is definitely an album that will be appreciated by all lovers of good music.
"Michelle's voice is truly beautiful
and beautifully true."
